Asheville Art Museum
As the single visual arts facility serving Western North
Carolina, the Asheville Art Museum, its collection and
programs are the only such resources available to the
diverse communities in the region. Located in downtown
Asheville at Pack Place.
Chimney
Rock
Chimney Rock Park is the perfect place to reconnect with
nature and spend time with family and friends. Located
48 miles southeast of Wolf Laurel, the park offers
spectacular 75-mile views, hiking trails for all ages, a
404-foot waterfall, a variety of special events and much
more.
Grandfather Mountain
Grandfather Mountain is the highest peak in the Blue
Ridge mountain range and a globally recognized nature
preserve. It’s mile high swinging bridge offers
360-degree views of distant mountain ridges. Grandfather
Mountain has been a wildlife sanctuary and nature
preserve for over 100 years. Located 50 miles northeast
of Wolf Laurel.
Hot Springs Resort and Spa
Hot Springs Resort and Spa is a 100 acre facility
featuring modern Jacuzzi style hot tubs, positioned
outside along the tranquil banks of Spring Creek and the
French Broad River. The tubs are supplied with a
continuous flow of the 104 degree natural mineral
waters. A nationally certified and state licensed staff of

SART
Open each year from June though September, the Southern
Appalachian Repertory Theatre’s mission is to present
professional productions, with a special emphasis on
plays that portray the rich culture and heritage of this
area. SART is located on the campus of Mars Hill
College, just 10 miles south of Wolf Laurel.
Biltmore Estate NC
Built by George Vanderbilt in 1895, the Biltmore Estate
is known as the largest privately owned estate in the
United States. Over 900,000 guests per year visit the
8,000 acre estate which features a winery and 250 acres
of landscaped gardens. Open 365 days a year.
Folk Art Center
The Folk Art Center showcases the finest in traditional
and contemporary craft of the Southern Appalachians.
Visitors can observe craftspeople at work in daily craft
demonstrations as well as a series of educational events
held year round. Open March through December, the Folk
Art Center is located at milepost 382 on the Blue Ridge
Parkway.

Carolina Arboretum
The arboretum is a 434-acre public garden located within
the Bent Creek Experimental Forest of the Pisgah
National Forest. A center for education, research,
conservation and economic development, and garden
demonstration, the arboretum offers a wide range of

Nantahala Outdoor Center
NOC offers guided whitewater rafting trips as well as
canoe and kayak paddling courses. They also offer
adventure travel, mountain biking, group programs, ropes
courses, kayak touring, fly-fishing and hiking. For trip
